The Rev. Reagan W. Cocke is the Senior Associate Rector at The Church of St. John the Divine Episcopal, where he has served since 2002 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Wycliffe Hall, part of Oxford University, with distinction in 1999. Previously he attended the University of Pennsylvania 1981-1988, receiving a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude in 1885) and a Master of Architecture (1988) before working as an architect for nine years in San Antonio, Texas. Married since 1986 to Stephanie Hetos Cocke, they have two adult children.
Reagan has recently written his first book, Encountering Truth in John’s Gospel. He deeply loves the Gospel of John, calling it the most profound book in the Bible that communicates the truth of who Jesus is to a world in need of a Savior. "Without John," he writes, "we would not know the stories of Nicodemus, the woman at the well, doubting Thomas, Jesus washing his disciples feet, the miracle of water turning into wine at a wedding in Cana, and all the I AM sayings Jesus tells his disciples."
