Each year on the 2nd Saturday in October (this year: Oct. 10), cities across the globe observe World Homeless Day. Its purpose is to draw attention to the needs of people experiencing homelessness and provide opportunities for communities to get involved in responding to this urgent humanitarian issue. This is perhaps more important this year than ever as we know that people experiencing homelessness are uniquely vulnerable to COVID-19.
This year, we will engage by the following:
- Thursday, October 8: 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Prayer Meeting for World Homeless Weekend on Zoom. Michael Young will be leading this group to pray for Homelessness in our city and our country. Contact Tany for Zoom information.
- We have scheduled a Note/Survival Kit Items Drive for World Homeless Week the entire month of October. See the list here.
For those who took key chain kits home from Rally Day, please return them to the SJD receptionist desk by the end of October!
