Holy Baptism is the sacrament by which God adopts us as his children and makes us members of Christ’s body, the Church, and inheritors of the kingdom of God. Baptism has been a foundation for the Christian life since Christianity first began and it has been a pivotal event in the lives of families and individuals at St. John the Divine for over 75 years.
Baptisms are conducted at Sunday worship services on or near the feast days of Easter, Pentecost, All Saint's Day, and the feast of the Baptism of our Lord (the first Sunday after Epiphany). In addition to these Sunday services, we also will offer special baptism services on five Saturdays during the year.
These nine baptismal dates will give all families and individuals a broad choice of services to plan in advance a day that will best fit their schedules. .
- Saturday Baptisms will be held in the chapel at 11:00 am.
- Sunday Baptisms will be at the 11:00 am Church / HLC service. On Easter Sunday, baptisms will only be held during the 6:00 am Easter Vigil.
