Dear Parents and Students,
I have some bittersweet news to share. I have accepted the Family Ministry Director position at West University United Methodist Church beginning October 4th. This opportunity was not something I expected, but have felt called to, after much prayer and discernment.
The past year and a half has been filled with great love and hope as I have seen God working in the lives of our students and families. Our Family Ministry team is incredible and extremely gifted. Working with them and the rest of the SJD family has been an immense honor. Please know our team is excited and optimistic about the upcoming year thanks to the wonderful volunteers that have already stepped up to join SJD in its ministry to our youth.
The love, joy, and laughter I've experienced with all of you have been nothing short of amazing. I am grateful for all the Lord has taught me through each of you and will keep you close to my heart. I hope to take all the lessons and advice I've learned in my relationships with me wherever I go. It has been a privilege to serve alongside and witness the ways the Kingdom is being furthered through each of you.
I look forward to an ongoing friendship and partnership with SJD as we further the Kingdom in Houston. The SJD family will continue to be in my prayers as you grow further in your relationship with Jesus and one another. I am expectant of all the wonderful things God has in store for St. John the Divine.
With all my love and prayers,
We are grateful for the time Katie has been serving with us, and rejoice in her continued calling to ministry. Katie begins her new role at West University Methodist on October 4, and will serve here until the end of September. Please take some time to thank her for her ministry to both students and parents when you see her!
