The Guild Shop

The Guild Shop is a non-profit resale shop located in Montrose. We have been in existence since 1962. Our spacious, but charming shop has been voted “Best Resale Shop” by Houston Press Readers 4 out of the last 7 years (and in some of the “off” years “Best Resale Shop” was not even a category!) Our amazing store is a cross between the “Antiques Roadshow” and your grandma’s attic!  The constantly rotating inventory includes jewelry, furniture, rugs, collectibles, household items, art, rugs and numerous chothckies you can’t even imagine at an incredible price! The amazing thing is all of the items have been either donated to the shop or consigned. 

Over the years, The Guild Shop has given financial and in-kind assistance to numerous charities, but our primary beneficiary since 1965 has been St. James House, the Episcopal Diocesan Retirement Center in Baytown, TX, to whom we have given over $4 million. This contribution goes to aid those of all denominations who have run out of money toward the end of their life.

We are affiliated with St. John the Divine Church and we have over 150 volunteers, approximately half of whom are members of the church. The other half is a cross sectional mix of people who work hard, enjoy people, and love The Guild Shop!  We are open Monday through Saturday – come see us!
