Youth Ministry

Our Ministry & Team

Who qualifies as a youth?
The youth ministry community includes students in grade 6-12, their families, the youth staff and the awesome adults who volunteer to lead our programs.
How can I get a student plugged in to the youth ministry?
Almost every week we meet on Sundays at 10:00am and Wednesday at 6:30pm. On Sunday there is a separate Middle School and High School teaching time followed by break out groups with other students. On Wednesday we eat "high caloric and good" food, have fun, worship, break open God's Word and then play high energy games. Look on the side menu for your age group for details!
What is the goal of the youth ministry?
We want to help families raise their students into healthy adults with a love for Jesus and his holy church. We do this by connecting with students, nurturing their relationship with Jesus Christ, plugging them into the youth ministry community and helping them develop their ability to serve others.

Our Mission

SJD Youth: Being Changed. Bringing Change.

We experience and share the Good News of Jesus in the places we live, work, study, and play.

Our apprenticeship to Jesus is shaped by...

  • Joyful community (Acts 2:44, 47)
  • Ancient yet familiar worship (Acts 2:42 and 4:31)
  • Courageous biblical teaching (Acts 2:42, 2:14-38)
  • Genuine hospitality (Acts 4:32-34)
  • Honest humility (Acts 14:11-15)
  • Faithful evangelism (Acts 4:7-12)
  • Real opportunities to serve and make a difference (Acts 8:26-40)
