Seniors Ministry

Our Ministry & Team

How do I request help or service from Seniors Ministry?
Anna Marie Palmer is the Seniors Ministry "Dispatcher". Anna is homebound and in a wheelchair and has volunteered to be available 7 days a week to take calls and refer requests to the appropriate ministry chair. For more information on any of our services or ministries, call Anna Marie at xxx-xxx-xxxx. More information is also available on each ministry's page.
Is my loved one eligible for The Gathering?
Our volunteer to participant ratio is designed to provide a safe and appropriate place for persons with early to mid-stage dementia.
Can I get transportation or participate in a trip if I use a walker or wheelchair?
Transportation is available through Seniors ministry only to ambulatory seniors. We can transport you if you use a walker, but we are not equipped to handle a wheelchair. We would be happy to help refer you to other transportation if you use a wheelchair. We are unable to offer our trips to seniors who use walkers or wheelchairs.

Our Mission

Our mission is "Changing lives for God in Christ" by addressing the unmet needs of our senior parishioners whenever possible by volunteer parishioners. The Senior ministry offers various programs to SJD parishioners: One-on-one visits, home maintenance and repair, The Gathering (care for those with early dementia), transportation, one-on-one computer training, trips, bridge, information, referrals, and consulting.
