SJD Music

Music in the church exists to glorify God and is integral to our worship and liturgy – worship being the core of congregational life.  From the earliest times, God’s people have shown their love for God with singing and playing of musical instruments. You may participate in Music at St. John the Divine by joining one of our many fine ensembles and by singing with enthusiasm in worship.  You may additionally participate by attending one of our special musical liturgies. Offerings include Choral Evensong, Compline, yearly Lessons and Carols (both traditional and contemporary) and a choral service on Good Friday. It is our desire that Music at St. John the Divine enrich your worship and your life as one of God’s people.
