SJD Music Ensembles
The St. John’s Chorale
Rehearsals: Thursdays, 7:15 - 9:15 pm in the Choir Room
The Chorale sings weekly at the 8:45 & 11:05am traditional services. Choristers may choose to sing one or both liturgies. Additionally, the Chorale sings regular Evensong and provides the musical leadership for the liturgically rich celebrations of Christmas and Easter along with the other great feasts of the church year. Music from the rich Anglican Choral tradition forms the heart of its repertoire.
Rehearsals: as scheduled in the Choir Room
The Parish Choir is a new ensemble which will sing periodically at the 8:45am service. We need you! Volunteers range from those with no formal musical training to those with broad experience, but they share enthusiasm and a desire to make beautiful music as part of the worship service. If you have always wanted to sing but are not able to commit to weekly rehearsals, this is the choir for you!
The Living Creatures
The Living Creatures, a praise and worship ensemble under the skilled leadership of Kemper Crabb, sing regularly for the 9:00 a.m. Awesome Worship service and the 11:05 a.m. contemporary Eucharist in the Parish Life Center.
The Sounds of Celebration
The Sounds of Celebration sings weekly for the 6:00 p.m. Rite II Celebration Eucharist. A strong community of singers and instrumentalists enjoy leading this informal worship at the close of the day. Rehearsals: Sundays, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
The Parish Handbell Choir
Rehearsals: Wed, 5:30 - 7:00 pm or as scheduled
The handbell choir is a unique and fun-filled opportunity. Do you read music? Can you come to regular rehearsals? If so, we will teach you to ring the handbells!

Music for Children and Youth is designed to nurture each young person's vital relationship with God in Christ. The objective of our ministry is to provide the next step, to give children and youth an opportunity to respond in a tangible way to God's love and presence in their lives. As they serve through their own ministry of music, a sense of deep joy and accomplishment is experienced and faith is strengthened. Our congregation is immensely blessed by the sincerity, ability, and enthusiasm of our children and youth.
All choirs sing at the 8:45 am service per the choir calendar. For more information call 713.354.2245 or email Lois Trego at .
