Adult Education

Our Ministry & Team

What adult Christian education opportunities are available at St. John's?
On Sunday mornings from 10:00 am - 11:00 am we have a group Bible study in the Hall Life Center with 20 minutes of teaching followed by small groups. We also offer a large men's Bible study (Men's Life) on Tuesday mornings from 6:30 - 8:00 am, and a large women's study (The Hope of Glory) on your choice of Tuesday evening or Thursday morning. There are various weekday studies as well. All our studies are listed on the calendar.
What is being studied in Adult Sunday School now?
Sunday morning adult education resumes on Sunday, August 30 with a study of Paul's letters. We begin with the study of Colossians, which will be followed by the study of Philippians.
How do I join a Bible Study or Sunday Morning Small Group?
Bible studies and Sunday small groups are open to all. To find a Sunday small group, please come up front at the end of the talk and the Rev. Reagan Cocke or Kim Jameson will assist you.

Our Mission

Adult education at St. John the Divine is ultimately about discipleship. Discipleship is the relationship we stand in with Jesus in order that we might take on his character and more increasingly, routinely, and easily do the things he said and did. But to know these we must study his Word.
