Adult education at St. John the Divine is ultimately about discipleship. Discipleship is the relationship we stand in with Jesus in order that we might take on his character and more increasingly, routinely, and easily do the things he said and did. But to know these we must study his Word.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Mondays 1:30 to 4:00 pm (May 7, 14 & 21 and June 4, 11 & 18)

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational program designed to help family caregivers. It will help you care for yourself while caring for a relative or friend. You will benefit whether you are helping a parent, spouse, friend, or someone else who lives at home, in a nursing home, or across the country.

This class will give you the caregiver tools to:

Reduce stress
Communicate effectively with other family members, your doctor, and paid help
Take care of yourself
Reduce guilt, anger, and depression
Help you to relax
Make tough decisions
Set goals and problem-solve

Class facilitators are the Rev. Reagan Cocke, the Rev. Jan Dantone, Laura Goehrs, and Jim Robbins. The class is offered at no cost. Please contact Jackie Collins at 713-354-2237 or to register. The class size is limited to 14 participants.
