Dinner menus during Lent.

6:45 - 7:45 pm program and worship in the Church

Discipleship for Everyone is our focus during Lent. To compliment the new web-based discipleship tool, Monvee, that will be introduced in February, we will examine the nine inhibitors (areas of sin) that keep us from growing as disciples of Jesus in our Sunday sermons and Wednesday night presentations. After Wednesday night dinners in Sumners Hall, we will move to the Church for presentations on these five areas of sin that inhibit our growth:

• Feb 29, the Rev. Reagan Cocke: Joseph & Wrestling with Anger

• Mar 7, the Rev. Doug Richnow: Jonathan & Wrestling with Inaction

• Mar 14, the Rev. Jan Dantone: Samson & Wrestling with Misplaced Desires

• Mar 21, The Mathew Fenlon: Timothy & Wrestling with Anxiety

• Mar 28, The Rev. Larry Hall: Abraham & Wrestling with Pride

Following the clergy presentations we will have a short time of worship, ending by 7:45 pm.

Monvee FAQ

How do I get started on the Monvee Spiritual Assessment?

The Monvee Pak contains a red card in the visual experience section. Use the website address and the Monvee Pak I.D. number from this card to get started.

What does the word “Monvee” mean?

The word is a creative take on the Latin, meaning one life.

Who will have access to my information?

Your personal Monvee data is completely confidential. The Church of St. John the Divine does not have access to it. The only information we can view is aggregate data that shows trends and statistics within our congregation and the names of parishioners who have completed the spiritual assessment.

What does my Spiritual Growth Plan include?

Your plan includes a wide variety of recommendations in all four areas of growth: Time, Mind, Relationships, and Experience. These recommendations are a combination of thousands of Monvee resources and several SJD ministries, small groups, and serving opportunities.

What if I am participating in a growth activity that isn’t listed by Monvee or included in my recommendations?

You are able to add your own resources in each of the four areas.
Where can I buy the books that Monvee suggests for me? We encourage you to order books from the St. John the Divine Bookstore.
