Traditional Worship
7:45 am in the Chapel

We will offer our regular Rite I Sunday morning service on Christmas Eve in the Chapel, with the Christmas Eve readings and carols.

Children's Services
11:00 am, 1:00, 3:00 & 5:00 pm in the Church

Your family can choose from one of four services especially planned for young children and families on Christmas Eve! There will be communion at all four services, as well as a dramatic retelling of the Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke. At 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm, music will be led by Zach Meeks and a contemporary band. At 5:00 pm, music will be led by the children and youth choir. Hymns will be accompanied by the organ at all services.

Children are welcome to come to church in their own costumes. We will have costumes available in the narthex for the Holy Family, shepherds, wise men, angels, sheep, and stars. The creche will be set up in the Julia garden with live donkeys available for photos before and after services. We invite you to enjoy Christmas cookies and holiday beverages as well, and don’t forget to drop into Sumners Hall to see the lovely Christmas Village.

Traditional Candelight Services
7:00 & 10:30 pm in the Church

Our traditional Christmas Eve services bring the beauty and majesty of the season with the church decked in candles, flowers and holiday greenery. Music is led by the St. John’s Chorale accompanied by the grand Létourneau organ and brass ensemble. Each service will be preceded by a 15-minute prelude of music by the organ and brass. Following communion, the congregation will pass the light of Christ with candles and sing ‘Silent Night’ in the darkened church. Please come next door to Sumners Hall after the 7:00 pm service for hot chocolate, wassail, Christmas cookies, and fellowship.

Story and Song
9:00 pm in the Hall Life Center

Our “Story and Song” service is a fresh rendition of the classic “Lessons and Carols”. The story of God made flesh to save and redeem all of mankind is intertwined with an eclectic collection of Christmas music, from traditional carols to modern praise choruses. The Hall Life Center will be draped and awash in candlelight and adorned with Christmas trees, flowers, and greenery. Following communion, the congregation will pass the light of Christ with candles and sing ‘Silent Night’ in the darkened space. Come next door to Sumners Hall after the service for wassail, hot chocolate, Christmas cookies and fellowship.
