Previewing The Core: Strong Foundations of Faith

Come join us on Wednesday evenings in Lent for our guest and SJD speakers who will be giving us accessible seminary-level talks that will take you into The Core of Christianity, including talks on Christian systematic theology, history, ethics, and the Bible. These talks are designed to give you a preview of what to expect in September when we launch The Core. End with Compline at 9:00.

You can come back on Thursday afternoons and go deeper into the Wednesday evening talk in an expanded two-hour session.

Dr. Simon ViebertRev. Dr. Simon Vibert is Vice Principal of Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, where he also directs their School of Preaching. He has significant interest in theological training overseas, particularly in Tanzania, Zambia, Serbia and Haiti. Simon has 18 years of experience in parish ministry. The Apostle Paul's words in Philippians 1:21 have focused his Christian life and ministry for the last 25 years: "For me to live is Christ, to die is gain".

The Rev. Dr. Les Fairfield presents Early Irish Christianity

The Rev. Dr. Les Fairfield was educated at Princeton and Harvard, and for thirty years (1976 - 2006) was professor of Church History at Trinity. He is the author of John Bale: Mythmaker for the English Reformation. He taught courses at Trinity ranging from Patristics to Postmodernism. Since his retirement from full-time teaching in 2006, Les has continued to lead study tours and teach part-time at Trinity.

Rev. Dr. Michael Lloyd is the Principal of Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. He was formerly the chaplain at The Queen’s College, University of Oxford and the Director of Studies in Theology at Christ’s College, Cambridge University. Dr. Lloyd has taught theology and doctrine at the University of Oxford, Cambridge University and St Paul’s Theological Centre, London. He has published the popular introduction Café Theology and has a particular interest in the doctrine of evil, the problem of pain - and an inexplicable love of cricket.
