Exodus 29 - 31
The Lord God had freed his people from the bondage of slavery in Egypt. He had provided for their journey with the spoils of Egypt. He led them through the waters of the Red Sea and destroyed the Egyptian army that sought to destroy them. They are now God’s people but need tools to help them live as a “holy nation”, a “holy priesthood”. God gave them commandments and further instructions on how to live a life pleasing to the Lord God. He provided a means to return into His nearer presence through sacrifices. He completed the instructions on the Tabernacle and the garments for the priests. Chapter 29 describes how to consecrate his Tabernacle and his priests. Chapter 30 completes the furnishings, and chapter 31 describes those in the community who are gifted and therefore can accomplish this task. This is a long lesson, but hang in there. It is worth the effort.
