Larry Hall Clergy Photo

The Rev. Laurens Allen Hall, D.D. (Larry)
Senior Pastor (Rector)

Ministry Areas: Oversees clergy, responsible for overall vision and leadership of St. John the Divine.

Family: Married to Bennie, father of Grant, Oliver, and Bailey, and grandfather of Billy, Daisy, Kane, and Trotter.

Interests: Since coming to St. John the Divine in 1981, Larry has presided over a period of extraordinary growth and innovation in ministry. Larry’s visionary focus of building community has resulted in an active campus that is not just a Sunday church but a church for every day.

Larry’s primary activity outside of the church is enjoying his family. His hobbies include reading, golf, the Astros, and guitar playing. He is committed to and disciplined in his physical training program.

Favorite Scripture: Philippians 4:4-8 “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. “

Doug Richnow Clergy Photo

Senior Associate Rector

Ministry Areas: Oversees all ministries, with specific oversight to Men’s Ministries, Associate Vestry, Lay Readers, Lay Eucharistic Ministers, Lay Eucharistic Visitors, and Scouting.

Family: Married to Nikki, father of three children and grandfather to five.

Interests: Doug leads the new members’ class, the marriage class, and regularly teaches the Men’s Life program at St. John the Divine. He is actively involved in mission work in Tanzania and Kenya, and serves as Canon to the Archbishop of Tanzania.

Doug is an excellent photographer and enjoys painting, woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping, and golf.

Favorite Scripture: Philippians 2:5-11 “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Reagan Cocke Clergy Photo

Ministry Areas: Oversees the Contemporary and Awesome worship services, as well as Prayer Ministry, Adult Education, Family Life, and the SJD School of Theology.

Family: Married to Stephanie, and father of Catherine and Winston.

Interests: Reagan’s work with Sunday Adult Education has brought renewed focus on studying the Bible and small group participation. Reagan created the St. John the Divine School of Theology for those who want seminary quality teaching in the local church.

Reagan and his wife love traveling in England and France, cooking and entertaining, and spending time with family. Some of Reagan’s favorite books are This Momentary Marriage and Spectacular Sins by John Piper, and Knowing God by J.I. Packer.

Favorite Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:6,7 “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. “

Jan Dantone Clergy Photo

Associate Rector

Ministry Areas: Oversees Women’s Ministries, Stephen Ministry, Global Missions Committee, Daughters of the King, and divorce and grief support groups.

Family: Married to Hal, mother of three children.

Interests: Jan actively leads the Episcopal Church Women at St. John the Divine. This group is known for its hospitality, service, and sponsorship of the annual women’s retreat. Jan has worked tirelessly to rebuild the Stephen Ministry, a ministry that provides one-to-one Christian care to hurting people.

Jan served on active duty in the Air Force from 1981 to 1988 and enjoys hiking, camping, and needlework. A favorite book of Jan’s is Planet Narnia by Michael Ward.

Favorite Scripture: Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. “

Matt Fenlon Clergy Photo

Assistant Rector

Ministry areas: Special attention to young families, young adults, and offering supervision and counsel to the student ministry.

Family: Married to Jessica

Interests: Mathew was a missionary traveling overseas with the JESUS Film Project from 2003-2005 he and his wife enjoy traveling, cooking and spending time with friends and making new ones.  Mathew’s hobbies also include spending time in the outdoors, hunting, rock climbing and shooting.

Some of his favorite books include The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning, Who Will Deliver Us by Paul Zahl, and Judgment and Love edited by Sean Norris.

Favorite Scripture: Galatians 5:1 “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”
